Comelec summons campaign donors of Escudero, Marcoleta

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has summoned the campaign donors of Senators Rodante Marcoleta and Francis “Chiz” Escudero in connection with the complaints filed against them. The Comelec initially conducted motu proprio investigations into the campaign donations of the two senators, but the poll body later on dismissed the probe after finding insufficient evidence to charge the senators. Gatchalian: No official business on June 4; WFH allowed for Senate staff

P2.26-M shabu seized, 2 nabbed in Quezon City buy-bust

MANILA, Philippines — Suspected shabu (crystal meth) worth P2.26 million was confiscated by law enforcers in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City early Wednesday morning, leading to the arrest of two individuals, the police said. In a statement, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the suspects were caught in Barangay Del Monte at around 2:30 a.m., identifying them by the aliases “Jordan” and “Jonas,” both 31-year-old individuals.
